you're not indestructible, but you're pretty fuckin' amazing." "Hello! Anyone out there?!" A male voice echoed from somewhere behind the hill. "We know you're out there, we saw your camp and have a nice pair of ladies sandal shoes!" They heard at least two men laughing. The girls crawled as far back into the cave as they could, but it wasn't very deep. "No men with you?" one of them asked, and they laughed again. "Maybe we can have a date with you ladies? Come on out! We're nice guys, we won't hurt you!" This time they were sure they heard four men laughing including the one talking. They were close, but seemed to be walking away from their camp. The girls were so afraid, they both stopped breathing and held each other tight. "You'd better come on out, you're only making it worse for yourselves!" The older man said. Then a gunshot was fired, and the sound seemed to come from all directions. "Oh man!" whispered Sherry. Sandy held her hand, and said, "It'll be okay. Listen, they are getting further away, that means they don't know where we are. Just stay still, and once we don't hear them we run to the boat. I'm so sorry I got you into this. The girls quickly and quietly made their way down the hill, not taking time to stop and look around. It was all or nothing at this point. Reaching the bottom of the rocky hill, they stepped onto the sandy beach. The boat was no more than fifty feet away from them. Just then, two of the men came out around some rocks, entering their camp. The girls froze and stood perfectly still. All these guys had to do is look in their direction. "Go over there, behind those rocks," Sandy said. Sherry stealthily moved behind them and Sandy followed her. "What now?" Sherry asked, irritably. "It's not my fault." Sandy's feelings were visibly hurt by her tone. "I'm sorry. I'm just so freakin' scared out of my wits right now, and you're the only one I have to yell at, okay?" Sandy looked at her and they both smiled. "This is some fucked up shit we've gotten ourselves into." "It really is," replied Sherry as they hid. "Not a bad place to hide, really. They think we're on the beach on the other side of the ...
