prints leading from their camp," surmised Sandy. This is what had worried her the most. "We've got to get out of here, Sandy," said Sherry, timidly. "If we get up and run right now, they will hear us and chase us. We need to hide." Sandy peeked around the rocks and saw nothing and no one. She quietly motioned to Sherry to lie down in the long grass. Once she had erased their presence as best she could, she laid down next to her. "We do need to get out of here, but we need to know where they are so we don't just run into them." Sandy was at her best in stressful situations, and Sherry could feel her confidence. "Okay, I'm not afraid, we can do this." Sherry's fear eased up a bit, knowing Sandy wasn't afraid. They both began to slowly crawl thru the undergrowth and came to a clearing. "I don't hear them anymore," Sandy said. "I saw a small over hang of rocks on the hill near their camp. If we can make it, we can hide there. It's a pretty good vantage point to see them and the boat; I think if we can get there, we might have the upper hand." Sandy was a survivor. She had lost her mother when she was nine, and her dad was her only role model. He had taught her how to shoot guns, fly a plane, fix cars and rock climb. Sherry said, happily and hugged her. "Look, we can see their camp and that boat; it can't be more than fifty or sixty feet from here. If we go right now, we can make it!" Sandy was ready to run. "Sandy, I am starving, and thirsty. We need water, soon. You know we can't survive long without water, even I know that. That should be our first priority." Sandy looked at the boat. "Those guys are nowhere to be seen! We can take that boat right now and leave!" "But if we can't find Catalina, we'll die out on the ocean. We have to find water first." Sandy sighed. "You're right. I'm thirsty too, and starving. I wish I'd have put some waters in the plane. I usually do, what was I thinking?" Sandy, for the first time, was feeling like they might be in a hopeless situation. "Okay, I'll run down there and see if they have any supplies or anything. They must have water." Sandy began to get up and Sherry grabbed her by the shirt. "Are you fucking crazy?" Sherry looked at Sandy like she had lost her freaking mind. "You can't just go running into the middle of their camp! Aren't you the one that said we need to know where they are so we don't just 'run into them'?" "Okay, sorry, I just lost it for a minute. You're right..." Sandy gave Sherry a guilty smile and Sherry put her hand on the side of her face. "I'd tell you that ...
