I read the sign over and over until I knew it off by heart. The rain didn’t let up. I thought of myself earlier that day, running to that goddamn restaurant like a fool and I wanted to laugh. How desperate was I? Why the hell should I care about her when there was no space in her life for a guy like me? The answer hit me like a bullet . I had nothing else . And even though it hurt for all my plans to be dismantled, I suddenly found myself relishing the pain. I’d never felt such strong emotions before and in some twisted way they spurred me on. Life was a game. And it didn’t come with instructions. I had nothing else to live for. I couldn’t give up on her now.
