Kong all afternoon in the backyard. He was a very smart dog and obedient also. He would sit when told to and come when called. While we ate dinner he sat between Joel and me waiting for any scrap of food that might fall his way. We made sure that a lot of food accidentally fell on the floor. Dad scolded us telling us it wasn’t healthy for a dog to eat that much table scraps. We eased back a little on the scraps and asked mom if she would pick up some dog snacks at the pet store next time we go out. She assured us that she would buy some treats for Kong so we wouldn’t feed him so much of our foods. Joel and I went upstairs to play with Kong some more. The weeks passed and Joel and I grew very attached to our new dog. He was such a good companion, always ready to play and cheer us up when we felt down. Things took an interesting turn one afternoon while dad was at work and mom was at the grocery store. Joel was out playing ball with his friends and I had just got out of the shower after swimming in our pool. I tossed my clothes that I was going to wear on the bed and as I tossed my socks on the bed they rolled off the other side. I went around to pick them up and accidentally kicked them under the bed.
