just being nice to me? I suppose I do look young for my age, so does my Mum actually, but a full ten years younger? Seriously? Even when I was 23 I couldn’t have pulled a guy that nice looking. How come I’m suddenly so much more attractive now I’m older? I am more confident, more sure of myself and a lot more bossy. And he does seem to enjoy calling everyone his other Mum, and being told what to do, and… Okay. I get it. I can feel a plan forming. The next day, he’s in a good mood, bouncing around and being cheeky to various colleagues. He’s absolutely adorable when he’s like that. “What’s he said to you now?” I say, to Beryl, who is scoffing like he’s just said something incredibly rude. Beryl is laughing as she tells me, “He said my outfit today is like an original vintage 1970s librarian costume.” “I’ll get him back for you Beryl, don’t worry,” I call to her, walking off to find him. I find him upstairs, taking stuff out of his man bag and putting it in his locker. “What’ve you said to Beryl now, cheeky chops?” I say, sticking my head in the staff room door. I grin. He grins back, and runs his hands through his hair, “I can’t get away with nothing when you’re around, Jenny.” Then he stops and looks at me, “You look nice today anyway, new top?” “Oh dear,” I think, “Flirting already, at this time in the morning. And they’d never tell me what to do, ever.” “It’s because I’m older,” I simply state the obvious. “Yes, although I didn’t think you were.” “You’re still keeping that little lie up, huh?” “I wasn’t lying,” he laughs. “I’m about to wipe that little smile right off that male model face,” I think. “Come over here,” I say, making things serious again. He’s still smirking, although not for much longer. I beckon him over with my finger, and try not to smile back. I just raise my eyebrows again, “Come over here,” I say, again. He does it, walking towards me, and I lift my head and look at him suspiciously, with my chin up, “Beryl is upset,” I say, folding my arms. “Is she?” his voice breaks a little bit, nervously. “No,” I laugh, as if I’m playing with him. He’s close to me now. I let him squirm just for a second, before I grab both his shoulders and turn him to the side, pushing him up against the wall, and rolling my body all over him, my face turned up to be right in his. I curl my top lip just a little bit. “What the hell is this thing going on between us here?” I toy. He swallows, and his smile has gone, “I don’t know.” He doesn’t deny it. “You flirt with me all the time, Daryl,” I say, ...
