beers. At home at last, he carried the groceries into the kitchen and stacked them away. He fed the dog and chained it for the night. Back in the kitchen he checked his answering machine. Six messages, three were from Tess. He dialed Tess's number on his landline and waited for her to answer. "Hi Tess here," she answered. "Hi Tess, just thought I'd let you know I'm home," he said. "Surprisingly he had a bit of an inkling something was going on. He was genuinely happy for me, us really. I wasn't expecting the reaction I got from him. He was pretty close with Dianne, I thought he might be a bit cross with me, he even made a toast to us with a beer," Drew told her. "Well that's good you told him, it could have made it a bit awkward seeing we are coming back up there so soon.
