one of my cousins, Angie, a girl who was quite a bit older than me, but still a fair bit younger than my mom. Angie was freshly divorced and so she was alone at the reunion, and since my mom had been kind of like a big s****r to her back when I was little, they were getting along grand. And drinking along grand, too, I should add. I guess mom was using dad’s absence to make up for some lost time, since I’d never seen her drink that that before.
