were to go to room 214 and just walk right in. Both of us exchanged puzzled looks before I pulled away and headed to the unknown. When we got there we went through the lobby and took the stairs to the second floor. Room 214 was down at the end of the hall and we just stood in front of it for a while, working up the nerve to open it. Each of us had thoughts running rampantly through our minds as to what we would see on the other side. None of them pleasant. Cat took my hand in hers as I reached out shakily, turned the knob and pushed the door wide open. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" four voices rang out in unison. Both Cat's and my own eyes bulged, and our jaws dropped as we stared into the room. On the left side were Bill and Angie, large smiles plastered to their faces. Directly in the center of the room stood our parents. As it was explained to us later that evening, Bill and Angie had spent the last couple of weeks setting up all the travel and lodging arrangements for Mom and Dad. Our parents had arrived four days ago and our spouses had spent a lot of time keeping them company until they could spring their surprise on us. Cat and I were speechless, and each time we looked at each other for the rest of the day our faces burned bright red.
