    I made the same walk.&#034 Sam replied just as Carly opened the door. &#034Sam, Freddie, what are you guys doing here?&#034 She asked. &#034We came to see your game, k*ddo.&#034 Sam said, barging in. &#034Where's the shower?&#034 Carly looked at Freddie. &#034We had a long trip.&#034 He told her. * * * Later that evening, Sam and Freddie were in attendance as Xavier went against USC. Despite a career high 42 points and 12 assists from Carly, USC lost a tough and gritty game 88-85. It put an end to what had been a surprising season for the Lady Trojans who weren't even ranked in the preseason polls but ended up being a number one seed in the tournament. So despite just losing, many people believed that it was just the start for them. With Carly's talent, they were able to recruit some players that they were very thrilled with and next year was expected to be an even better year for them. Still, Carly cried during the press conference, and in the locker room, and once again on the way back to the hotel with Sam and Freddie. And then once again when she got a ...
    text from Spencer. When they got back to the room, Carly went and took a shower, a long shower; a really long shower because that's what she does when she is depressed. She takes really long showers. When she finally came out, Sam and Freddie had decided to take her out to show her that the world had not ended. But Carly had already started feeling better. The long shower gave her time alone to think. She had done great all season, the team had done great. She had no reason to hold her head down. She was proud of herself; it normally would have taken her days to realize that. Her two best friends were there with her, she shouldn't be sad, she should be happy. There were going to be another season of basketball soon enough, for now she had Sam and Freddie and the thought of going back home in less than a two months. That night Sam, Freddie, and Carly went out and had fun in Phoenix before getting some rest and then heading back to USC the next day. What all that had happened to the three of them since they started college was nothing. Life had just started.
