It was a good thing I had trench coat on, or it would be obvious I was more than a little aroused. She looked up at me making eye contact and smiled as if she could read my mind. Finally it was time for both of us to go. I walked Angie across the street into the lobby of the building where I worked and Angie hoped to. As we got on the elevator I noticed it was as many people as usual, but then with the bad weather maybe people decided to take the day off. Either way I had to get going as I pushed the button for the top floor. I looked over at Angie asking, &#034What floor do you want Angie?&#034 She looked saying, &#034Same as you.&#034 My heart skipped a beat, maybe she was my interview. She seemed to be getting more and more nervous as the elevator groaned and started it's ascent. I told her to relax, that her interview was going to go just fine. She looked at me saying, &#034I hope so....I'm out on my fanny if I don't get this job. I'm already two months behind in my rent, and everything is counting on this job.&#034 As the elevator continued it's ascent it started making some unusual noises. Noises that weren't normal. We were about half way up when it really started grinding and groaning when it suddenly came to a stop between floors. People were starting to get excited and some were starting to panic. I told them to calm down, that it would probably start up again. When it was obvious that wasn't going to happen one of the male passenger picked up the emergency phone ...
trying to call. I told him it would automatically ring, and to wait for someone to answer. Finally someone came on the line, and the passenger told them what had happened. A couple of minutes later he slammed the phone down yelling, &#034I can't believe this guy. He says they have to asses the situation and he'd get back to us!&#034 &#034Looks like we have no choice,&#034 I told him. &#034The best thing we can do is relax and let these guys do their job.&#034 People seemed to be content with that when the lights suddenly went out. Now people were yelling and one woman was screaming. Again we tried to calm people when the phone rang again. This time the passenger answered saying the lights had gone out and we were all in the dark. Then after a minute or two he started screaming and swearing at the person on the other end of the line. He slammed the phone down again this time saying, &#034These bastards say it going to be at least a couple of hours.&#034 As he ranted I grabbed his shoulder in the darkness saying, &#034Shut the hell up. Panicking and having a hissy fit isn't going to get this elevator up and running. So shut up, and conserve your energy. There are air vents so no one is going to suffocate or anything like that. Now just relax, talk to your neighbor, just be cool and we'll be out of here in no time.&#034 That seemed to calm people down for the time being when I realized I hadn't heard Angie. I turned and fumbled around for her finally finding her in the back corner ...
