Donna had called, Becca, my wife to report that the showerhead in her shower had fallen off. Becca quickly dispatched me next door to help fix the issue, because I was such a great handyman. I knew instinctively, before I even showed up next door, what the real deal problem was. Donna’s husband was gone on an extended business trip and Donna was wanting more than her shower knob fixed. I knocked on the door. I could see Donna approaching, wrapped in a terry-cloth towel, her hair dripping wet. Donna opened the front door and smiled. “The shower is still on and this happens,” she remarked, holding out her hand, and showing me the shower knob. I headed for the master bath, Donna following me. I opened the shower stall door and slipped the knob over the brass fitting and attempted to turn it. The knob spun in my hand. I looked at Donna, who was standing behind me, smiling. “Where is the set screw?” I asked. “The what?” Donna shot back. “The set screw,” I inquired. Donna didn’t have a clue as to what I was talking about, so I did my best to explain to her what a set screw was and how it held the shower knob in place. Donna said she had no idea where the set screw was located. “I might have one in my tool box,” I remarked. I headed back next door.
