    THE AFFAIR (The story takes place in the 1920s in London, England) Henry thought it was Nigel’s idea but he had finally found out, after some prodding, that it was Edith, Nigel’s wife, who had suggested the two wives witness their husbands’ meeting. Although Henry was against it at first, and his wife Barbara seemed quite indifferent, Nigel and Edith convinced them that it would be fun for all and that it could put some spark in a relationship which might need it soon. The two couples were rather “queer” as they were called then. In their early 50s, Henry and Nigel both liked other men and had married women who knew of their mate’s preferences and had lesbian affairs of their own. A good ten years younger than their husbands, the ladies carried on a lavish lifestyle, which was no problem for either of these wealthy businessmen. Henry had been married about 10 years and Nigel close to 15. The men actually met at Henry’s wedding. The reason for the marriages was simple: appearing to live a normal and conservative life. Especially in their social class, being “queer” was not an advantage. Ever since their meeting at the wedding, the two men met weekly, usually on a Friday evening at the same hotel, to have sex. The two wives knew of the “meeting” and neither minded since it kept their spouse happy. Now that the women would witness their affair, the two men hoped that this would not change their habits.     of each other as quite handsome when they dressed that way. For the women, it was more complicated. Barbara, Henry’s wife, who was the youngest of the group, wore a straight dress, very colourful, with a loose linen belt. Her blonde hair was kept high with a head band which showed her pearl earrings Henry had recently given her. She had small breasts which the dress barely showed except when she bent over (she had no bra). She was vivacious, quite thin and nervous, and her constant yakking amused Henry more than it upset him. Edith was about 5 years older and dressed in a more conservative way. She chose a beige cotton skirt and a white blouse with a rather bulky bra. Her face was always covered with a thin coating of cream which made her face quite white, like a death mask. Some people found it quite attractive and mysterious, especially since she had dark black hair and long eyelashes. There was something demonic about her. Edith was fleshier than Barbara but her full breasts and wide buttocks were hidden by ample clothing. The two women had met a few times socially but knew each other more through reputation and , of course, their husbands affair. For a reason neither of them could explain, they had never had sex with each other. The man at the posh Victoria Hotel desk was somewhat surprised to see the two couples arrive together, used as he was to welcoming the two men alone. He was even more surprised to be asked for two comfortable chairs to be moved to the suite….and, ...
