needed. SANDY’S STORY, AND A FOLOW-UP: Oh my gosh! So... I get an email out of the blue from Frank. I hadn’t heard from Frank in years. Almost immediately, I had a flashback of epic proportions. I literally stared at the email for a while before I could begin to process things. How did he find me? I was simply astonished. Frank and my ex-husband Matt had served together in the Army. I had become friends with his wife, Debbie. I sat and read the email over and over. “Hey, do you remember me? Deb and I are doing great. I am no longer in the Army. I am submitting a literary piece for a web site and wondering if you would like to add to my story line. I am sending you my story and Deb’s story and am hopeful you won’t be too bashful in adding your story. Of course I will change the name to protect our identities.” I typed out a response. “Oh my gosh! This is quite a shocker to hear from you! Of course I remember you. You’re the cause of my wet dreams. I’ll write something and send it to you in a few days. Love, Sandy.” I took out the “Love, Sandy” part, but then put it back in. What the heck. We would have gotten married sooner, but my job as a flight attendant seemed to always keep me on the road. The first few years of our marriage were terrific. Over time, though, our separation became stressful, and pretty soon the time we spent together was less romantic. Matt insisted I quit my job as a flight attendant. I liked my job. I liked meeting people and going places. I did not like socializing with a bunch of Army wives, so when I met Debbie, Franks wife, we had something in common. I had met Frank long before I met Debbie. Matt and Frank were golfing buddies. Our interactions were always in passing, as when Matt was not picking up Frank, Frank was picking up Matt at our house. Matt was to Frank like Fric was to Frac. Matt was short and muscular. Frank was six-foot four, and carried his weight much better than Matt did. Matt had a good start on a beer belly, while Frank was trim and fit. I did my best to keep my Frank-fantasies a secret. When I discovered Matt had the “hots” for Sandy, I will admit I was a bit hurt. But that hurt was temporary as I discovered Frank had a liking for me. It happened one night at the “O” Club, or “Officer’s Club” at Fort Hood, Texas. It started with Debbie asking me if she could dance with Matt. I was a bit ticked at Matt, because he was showing me no courtesy at the ...
