your voice: “Don't crash!” but this steel is burning through my heels as desperately I remember how it feels. ----- There we were, in the dark, alone together, watching your mark. Always remembered the devil's due, Never wiped the sweat from your brow and didn't dare miss a cue... I adored how you counted in, under your breath, “Five four, three, two... Now.” Walking out into the black you never failed to watch your back. Never left the witch's brew, it made us stronger, tougher, filled us with all that we lack; Burned into my memory- The most vigorous ingenue. ----- Tip my hat with a toxic smile, wave to the red and blue flashing in my rear view. Bright as night against the desert brown, they just make me think of you. Every flat tire, each fresh hotwire reminds me... Twisting the dial, I remember how you did what you did- rendering my desire, hotter, and brighter than the King's own funeral pyre. Ran and ran for miles; almost drowned in the dust. We blew the doors off that little town, all made out of rust. Blacked out the windows and painted the ceiling; showed off our own sense of style, without an ounce of feeling. Those were the days, when all you had to do was shoot me a smile... Plenty of close calls, and last calls - made our share of bad calls - but we made it out without a trial. ----- Suddenly, lovely, handsome, pure and unjust, An adamantine body rippled before us... How it moved, stretched, how it overwhelmed and touched, how penetratingly he judged us seething ...
