To My Valentine

To my Valentine, The one who holds the key for my lock, Whose name I dare not utter, Until I rest with you on that crisp, cold eve. To my Valentine, The hand that fits so perfectly in mine, As with the other I raise that most cherished of red flowers to your face, Each bringing out the beauty in the other. To my Valentine, Whilst we meet under the twinkling lights in the marquee, Watching two lives come to be one in union, Starting a new chapter. To my Valentine, To whom I give all my devotion, As I bend to one knee, And whisper, "I am not so cliché." To my Valentine, I will lay with you tonight, Just gaze upon you as you sleep, Watch and protect my future. To my Valentine, Upon the next day, I will ask you for your hand, And feel as if I own everything I see. To my Valentine, I ask the cherubs that we stay together, You are my right, The Yin to my Yang. To my Valentine, The only vessel that brings and sates my lust, My desire for your passion burns with a flame that cannot be doused, Two fires becoming one and the same. To my Valentine, To forever in your arms, Greater than the vastness of the waters of the world, You the blessed sunrise that comes after the harshest night.
