Help me here, Ashley, I’m floundering!” She smiled and blushed prettily. “Well….” She looked at me appraisingly for a moment. “I don’t normally do this except for my regulars, but I have the feeling that you and your wife are something special. Come with me.” She led me to the small stockroom, a few stacks of boxes, a desk in one corner and a tiny restroom off to one side; the door marked ‘Manager’ was tightly closed. She picked up a large, square leather briefcase – almost a small suitcase or valise – and set it on the desk.
