She was absolutely shining. Radiating beauty. Her angelic smile melting me. A few loose wet strands of hair in her face. We were still nearly face to face. I don't know what came over me. Maybe the rush of hormones. Maybe the wine. Maybe the pot or heat. I leaned forward slightly, reached out ever so softly and brushed the hair out of her eyes. She tensed and drew in a quick breath of air sensing what was coming next. Slowly I leaned into her, studying the expression on her face. She closed her eyes as I did mine. Ever so slowly our lips connected and we shared our first kiss. Our lips and heads remained still at first, and then began to move ever so slowly. I parted my mouth and traced the curves of her lips. She began to breathe harder. I reached up and gently traced the curve of her jaw with my fingers. Then moved my hand to the back of her head cupping it passionately. She moved in closer to me and climbed on top of me straddling my lap. She opened her mouth and we greeted tongues. Circling them around each other. We stared hard into each other's eyes sharing a moment of epic disbelief. ~"No one has ever kissed me like that before." She said, still in disbelief and shock. A few moments passed. I don't know how the next words found their way into my mouth. They were already there and out before I knew what I was saying or thinking. ~"I...I love you..." I said in a moment of self realization. Now to interject here shortly, those three words are common innocent words spoken between close families. But the way those three words rolled off my tongue, there was no mistaking the intent behind it. Her expression suddenly turned to that of alarm. She shifted back off my lap. "What?!" She said in disbelief. I knew then that I had stepped on a land mine. ~"I...I'm sorry!" I stuttered in disbelief as to what had come out of my mouth. "I don't know what came over me." I tried to rationalize out loud. She sat back on the seat on the other end of the hot tub and looked away. The guilt and shame rolled over me. What had I done? What had I allowed to happen? I feared there was no going back to the innocence we shared once before. I had allowed that bridge to be burned and would be forever caught in ...
