His quick thinking kept him alive at the cost of one of his katana. One more hit and he’d be dead. The bear approached him, Rus came to the rescue biting the beast’s back. All this did was annoy it as it flung Rus. Intercepting his companion in mid-air Veritas minimized the damage. Facing the bear his instinct told him to retreat.
